As you may have noticed, I love activities with easy materials, and it doesn't get much easier than water! So water is featured in a lot of our activities...and here is another way to play with it!
I set out two containers for S, one about 1/3 full of water and one that was empty. I handed her a spoon and challenged her to move the water from the full container to the empty container as carefully as she could (depending on the age/skill of your child, you may want to lay a towel out underneath the containers to soak any spills).
Once she'd done that, I challenged her to move it back to the other container using a paper towel.
After that, I had her do the same with a syringe (we used one from X's baby Tylenol).
A syringe is a bit complicated to work, so if you have a younger child, you may want to omit this tool or step in to help them use it.
And finally I had her pour using a very small container.
S loves stuff like this and it's super easy and fast to set up. You could also use a sponge, a washcloth, an eyedropper, a ladel...the possibilities go on and on and on...
